Bizruption Celebrates “The Digital and Innovation Advocates Award” At Marquee, The Star Sydney.

What a way to start off 2019! Bizruption started the year with a bang, on Tuesday 19th February 2019 at Marquee, The Star Casino. Over 90 like-minded entrepreneurs, innovators and industry leaders joining together to celebrate the Digital and Innovation Advocates Award.

Bizruption celebrated the Digital and Innovation Advocates Award on the 19th February 2019 to recognise some of the active organisations and government bodies that have continually supported small business growth and promoted the importance of innovation.

Raising awareness for digital change, Bizruption has once again brought over 90 small business owners together to meet, connect and get inspired.

The attendees at Bizruption all came with the energy to be inspired and connect among their like-minded peers and NetStripes is very thankful for all those who took the time to come, especially the rural councilors and chamber members who flew into town to receive their awards on the night.

Nicholas Santucci – The Star Entertainment Group

Special mention to our sponsor, The Star Casino for once again, providing us with the best venue for Bizruption and making it happen. Special thanks to Nicholas Santucci, the Manager of Business Development at the Star Entertainment Group for coming and being apart of the big night.

Sonia Wray – MC

We were very fortunate to have our fabulous Sonia Wray to be our MC once again for the evening. Her astounding energy and capability to host were seriously above and beyond, bringing energetic and positive vibes to the audience.

Declan Burton Clark – Business Connect

Not to forget, special thanks to the Business Connect representative Declan Burton Clark for speaking on the night.

If you’re a small business or know of a friend who’s starting a business or growing their business, and need financial assistance, feel free to email Declan at declan@valiant.finance.

Dinesh De Silva

The Award Ceremony started with Dinesh giving his speech on the importance of Digital Innovation.

Recognising the unrealised potential of small businesses in Australia, Dinesh highlighted the importance of Innovation support required from the 3 major stakeholders; all three levels of government, business chambers and industry bodies, and the major corporates who are committed to supporting small business growth.

On the night of Bizruption, we want to thank these chambers and councils for their continual support and promotion of innovation. As a result of their work, small business owners and entrepreneurs all around New South Wales were able to become more digitally aware and engaged.

It has been Netstripes’ pleasure to work with these chambers and councils, and we hope to continually work alongside them towards our mission to help small business owners grow and succeed in their business.

Rhiannon Stevens – Cessnock City Council

Megan Dixon – Regional Development Australia Orana

Michael Waters – Retail Drinks Australia

Rod Dever – Gosford Erina and Coastal Chamber

Pitchfest

After the Digital Advocates Award Ceremony, we wrapped up the evening with Pitchfest; an opportunity for all entrepreneurs to pitch their business in front of their peers.

The finalists did an amazing job, powering the room with their passion to thrive and innovate for success. Hopefully, their pitches have inspired others to work on their business pitch, and we can’t wait to hear them again at our next Bizruption.

Anup Arora – Social Media Contest Winner

Finally, for the Social Media Contest, we want to congratulate Anup Arora from Spice Vine for winning the social media contest, taking home a $250 Restaurant Voucher for The Star.

It was great to see everyone getting onto their feet, and take photos with one another. Make sure to #NetStripes and #Bizruption on your social media at our next Bizruption event to win cool prizes like this.

Special thanks to our photographer Steven Grayston for taking the time to come and capture the great moments of Bizruption.
