How could we have a Bizruption without the one and only Sonia Wray. Our fabulous MC for the evening, Ms Sonia Wray started the evening on a high note by welcoming our guests with her boundless energy and good-natured humour.
She sure can project her voice through a room, making sure everyone was involved and focused on the evenings proceedings.
The Federal Minister for Small and Family Business; Skills and Vocational Education, shares her thought on small business industry and digital innovation
We had the great pleasure of hosting the honourable Michaelia Cash, the Federal Minister for Small and Family Business; Skills and Vocational Education, at Bizruption.
Her words of encouragement and support to facilitate the small businesses of NSW was delivered on Monday night, where she shared insights on the small business industry, her thoughts on digital innovation and how the government plans to implement more processes to support the backbone of the Australian Economy.
The Minister stressed the importance of digital innovation and data analysis for small and medium business if they want to succeed in the digital age; and went on to state that if more small businesses in Australia can achieve digital engagement and increase their employees by just one person, there will be more the 1 one million new jobs created in the industry.
She went on to reiterate the importance of cash flow in small businesses; and said that with over 7 billion worth of small business money tied up with debtors, the Federal and State Government are implementing a method to pay small businesses that send a digital invoice within 5 working days.
The private sector has also been encouraged to do the same in an effort to release more cash flow. Throughout the evening, Michaelia took the time to get to know all the attendees and answer any questions they had for her.

Pitchfest
And of course, we wrapped up the evening with Pitchfest; the best opportunity for all small businesses to do a quick 30-second business pitch to their peers.
18 businesses took part in an adrenaline-rush activity (tick tock), with Mr. Shanaka Fernando walking away as the winner. His pitch was so good that not only he was unanimously voted as the winner, Minister Cash was so impressed she made a beeline to congratulate him.
We would like to take this opportunity to give our gratitude to the Federal Minister for Small and Family Business; Skills and Vocational Education, the honourable Michaelia Cash for joining us at Bizruption.
It was our greatest pleasure to have the minister make an appearance at our event, yet alone address the small business community.
The Government and Business Connect’s support has been highly appreciated here at NetStripes, and we hope this continues to facilitate the growth of small businesses in NSW for many years to come.
